Mission Statement

Victory is a church on a mission to connect all people to Jesus Christ to build growing disciples of Jesus Christ by REACHING the unchurched, TEACHING the believers, and SERVING the community. Victory’s vision is to be a progressive, influential church empowering people with a passion for God. Victory’s ultimate goal is to be a vital part of the fabric of the community.

“The Connecting church” best describes Ponca City’s VWC. Located in the heart of the city at the corner of Sixth and Hartford, Victory serves as the connecting point between Jesus, people, ministries and the community!

Victory is a growing, thriving church. The church eagerly welcomes and integrates guests and we are well known for friendly people and hospitable atmosphere. The general culture of Victory is rich with many cultures and ethnic groups that are representative of the community. Worship is a high priority at VWC with a contemporary style of high octane praise and energetic worship. At Victory, “worship” is our middle name.

This year marks Victory’s 47th year of service to the Ponca City/Kay County community at three different locations, with Senior Pastor Rick Hughes and his wife Valeria celebrating their 27th year of ministry to this congregation. Over the years the church has made many positive changes in order to accommodate a growing congregation. Consistent growth led the church to the present central location eight years ago because of its high visibility and opportunities for expansion.

Pastor Hughes emphasizes that “Victory is all about building people. Ministry and activities are planned for every age group with the end result being transformed lives. We’re thrilled to be right in the heart of the city, and believe God has directed us to this location with a mandate to impact our community!”

Victory is often recognized in the community by its fundraising efforts, which annually include bags of delicious peanut brittle. The church is quite active in various missions projects and supports 34 missionaries worldwide.

Victory is blessed with many children and offers outstanding KIDZ ministries. Prayer is a high priority at Victory with weekly prayer activities and a monthly 12-hour prayer chain always on the schedule. Many special services and guest speakers are also scheduled throughout the year. Guests are warmly welcomed at every service. Victory is a guest-friendly congregation and is always seeking new members!

Victory is highly committed to the community through various ministries, Dave Ramsey’s “Financial Peace University” seminars annually, quarterly OBI blood drives, “Gotcha Covered” prayer ministry for law enforcement, jail ministry at the Kay County Detention Center, as well as serving as host to community gatherings such as a precinct for voting for city, county and state elections.

Victory is a contemporary Bible-believing,
Spirit-filled church that is Apostolic in doctrine,
Pentecostal in experience,
Contemporary in worship,
and Christian in lifestyle.
